Jammu thrashes Jourian to win U-17 boys Inter-Zonal Cricket Tourney

JAMMU, Sept 15: Jammu zone thrashed Jourian zone by a big margin of 61 runs in the summit clash to lift the title trophy of the District Level Inter-Zonal Under-17 boys Cricket Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Satwari Cantt ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Jammu zone scored a fighting total of 124 runs in the stipulated 15 overs. Kanahiya Wadhawan played a brilliant innings of unbeaten 60 runs, while Aryan Gandral contributed well made 27 runs. Abdul Samad also chipped in with unbeaten 13 runs. For Jourian zone, Shubh Kumar took both the wickets to fall.
In reply, Jourian zone bundled out for a paltry total of 63 runs in 12 overs, thus lost the match by 61 runs. Abhishek top scored with 25 runs. For Jammu zone, Sanat Anand and Martuwan took 2 wickets each, while Anmol Manhas, Abdul Samad and Aditya Chib claimed one wicket each. The Jammu zone team was coached by Saleem-ur-Rehman and Madan Mohan, while Mohd Farooq was the manager.
