*Pinto Club wins Volleyball opening tie

JAMMU, Jan 22: District Jammu Premier League, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council in collaboration with various District Associations in disciplines of Hockey and Volleyball got underway at Green Field and KK Hakku Stadium, here today.
In Volleyball, the Pinto Club Jammu trounced Jammu Spikers Volleyballs Club by straight 3-0 sets (25-13, 25-16 and 25-18) and won the opening tie.
Riaz Ahmed, Administrative Officer J&K Sports Council interacted with the players before the start of the match.
Meanwhile in Hockey, Khalsa Warriors defeated Dashmesh Hockey Club by the margin of 15 to nil. Balmeet Singh scored five goals, whereas in another match, Akali Kour Singh Club Digiana got better of Bandhurakh Hockey Club by 6 to 2 goals.
Ashok Kumar, Deputy Director of Training Centre Jammu of Sports Authority of India and Sudhir Kumar, Senior Sports Journalist were the guests of the day of District Jammu Hockey Premier League.
In third match of Hockey, Dashmesh Hockey Club defeated Bandhurakh Hockey Club by a margin of 6-1 goals. Manganjot and Suriyavir scored three goals each, whereas Khalsa Warriors trounced Akali Kour Singh Club Diagiana in the hard contest by the margin of 3-0 goals.
Rajiv Sharma, working president of Hockey J&K introduced with both the team players, whereas the matches were officiated by Jagjeet Singh, Joginder Singh, Veena Chib and Anjali Thakur (all coaches) along with Rohit Sharma, Sohail Azeem and Ishitaq Hussain.
