Jammu Premier League gets underway

JAMMU, Jan 24: Jammu District Premier League, organised by J&K Sports Council in collaboration with different Associations of J&K got underway at Play Field Shastri Nagar and Indoor Sports Hall Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
On third day of the league, four matches of Volleyball were played at Play Field Shastri Nagar wherein Allah Volleyball Club beat Pinto Club Akhnoor by 3-2 sets (21-25, 25-20, 25-17, 18-25 and 15-11), whereas Pinto Club Jammu trounced Trikuta Salehar by 3-0 sets (25-18, 25-11, 25-19), Border Lines Pallanwala defeated Jammu Spikers by 3-0 sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-17) and Border Lion Pallanwala got better of Pinto Club Akhnoor by 3-0 sets (25-11,25-18,25-16).
The matches were officiated by a panel of VFI national referees including Bawana Sharma, Amarjeet Singh, Aashiq Hussain, Mulak Raj Sharma and Imtiaz Ahmed, whereas Vijay Kumar Magotra general secretary Volleyball Association of J&K was the chief guest who introduced the teams players and Kuldeep Magotra associate secretary VFI and CEO Volleyball Association of J&K, RC Sharma treasure, Veena Kumari (members of Association), Rajeev Dogra (coach), Sardar Gurdev Singh Randhawa (District Association Kupwara), Dalbir Mehta (In-charge Play Field Shastri Nagar) and Inder Paul Singh (Weightlifting coach) were also present.
The event was organised under the supervision of Ashok Singh Divisional Sports Officer JKSC.
Meanwhile, in Kabaddi the MA Stadium Club defeated Kings Sports Club with one point, whereas Kings Sports Club trounced Akhnoor Sports Club with 36-24 points, MA Stadium got better of Baba Jitto Club with one point, DBP Sports Club defeated Baba Jitto Sports Club with the margin of 40-34 points and Kings Sports Club trounced Nagrota Warriors with 38-15 points.
