JAMMU, Mar 29 : Defeating Jammu Rural by six goals to nil (6-0) in the summit clash, Jammu Police Central Hockey team lifted the title of the State Hockey Championship for VK Kohli Memorial Trophy, organized by Hockey J&K and sponsored by Sports Council at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
From Jammu Police team, Sikanderpal scored 4 magnificent goals, while one goal was netted by Jaspreet Singh and one by Sohil Azeem.
In women section, Platinium Hockey Club defeated Aries 7 Hockey Club by two goals to one(2-1). From Platinium Hockey Club, the 1st goal was scored by Chitira and the 2nd was netted by Jyoti Bhagat, while Tania scored the lone goal from Aries 7 Club.
ADGP SM Sahai was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Dr SK Bali, Dr Surinder Sodhi and Mohan Lal, Commandant IRP 10th batalian were the guests of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajinder Singh, treasurer Hockey India), Iqbal Singh, Harbans Singh, Gurjeet Singh, Sham Lal, and MS Reen.
The officials included Jageet Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Surinder Singh, Joginder Singh ,
Mohd Amin and Kulwant Singh, the tournament was held under the supervision of GS Bakshi, general secretary, Hockey J&K.
