JAMMU, Sept 2: Jammu Kings and Jammu Tigers outclassed rivals in their respective matches and advanced to the next stage of the ongoing J&K Peace T-20 Championship, being organized by Vishal Cricket Club (VCC), Jammu and District Sports Council Jammu in collaboration with Sehwag Cricket Academy, here today.
In Group-A match at Parade ground, Jammu Kings defeated Jammu Warriors by 3 runs. Batting first, Jammu Kings scored 111 runs in 18 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Surya scored 41 runs, while Aprajit Raina made 17 runs and Sourav chipped in 14 runs.
From Jammu Warriors side, Laith August, Dhruv Gupta and Dhruv Singh took one wicket each.
In the second inning, Jammu Warriors failed to chase the target and collapsed at 108 runs in 18 overs. Yuvraj made 21 runs, while Akshit and Areen scored 11 runs each.
From Jammu Kings side, Uttkarsh took 3 wickets, while Devvats and Kannav scalped one wicket each.
Surya of Jammu Kings was adjudged as Man of the Match.
In Group-B match at Sehwag Cricket Academy in Heritage School, Jammu Tigers smashed Jammu Superstars by 5 wickets. Batting first, Jammu Superstars scored 108 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Ritvik Sharma scored 17 runs, while Sachin made 15 runs. Ragav Thakur and Surinder chipped in 12 runs each.
From Jammu Tigers side, Jatin Shivgotra took 2 wickets, while Abay Tondon, Umar Sadiq, Tushar Dhawan and Arya Sachivansh scalped one wicket apiece.
In reply, Jammu Tigers achieved the target in 19 overs for the lost of 5 wickets. Abay Tondon was the highest scorer with 28 runs, while Aditya Abrol made 21 runs, Tushar scored 16 runs and Arsh Athmian chipped in 14 runs.
From Jammu Superstars side, Praful Dhar and Ragav Gupta took 2 wickets each, while Surinder scalped one wicket.
Abay Tondon of Jammu Tigers was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod, Zafar and Suhail.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu Superstars will take on Jammu Kings at Parade Ground, while Jammu Tigers will clash with Jammu Warriors at Sehwag Academy.
