JAMMU, Aug 29: District Youth Services and Sports Officers of Jammu, Reasi and Udhampur organized District Level Inter School tournaments at their respective venues, today.
The District Level Inter School Athletic Meet of all age groups girls section, Roller Skating and Roller Hockey all age groups girls were underway in Jammu, while Inter Zonal District Level Cricket Under-19 boys section concluded today at Mini Stadium, Parade Ground, here.
The competitions are being organized under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General, Youth Services & Sports J&K Srinagar and under the Chairmanship of Madan lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organizing Secretary of the tournament. About 650 girls’ are taking part in Athletics.
District Level Inter School Athletic meet for girls Under-19 years was today organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports at Subash Stadium, Udhampur.
District Level Inter School tournament and 10 Inter Zonal District Level Tournament at different venues of District Kathua concluded today.
Over 500 student players participated in tournament which had started on August 3 and concluded today.
The whole tournament was held under the overall supervision of Sunil Kumar, DYSSO Kathua.
Arhletics, Judo, Rope Skipping and Silambam competitions were held at Sports Stadium Kathua.
The District Level Inter-School Athletic Meet in all age groups boys and girls’ section was inaugurated in the Zorawar Singh Sports Complex Reasi.
In the competition 285 boys and 162 girls drawn from various schools of District Reasi .
Jeet Singh District Youth Services & Sports Officer Reasi was the chief guest on the occasion.
The tournament is being organised as part of Annual Sports Calendar by District Youth Services & Sports Officer Reasi under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur- Rehman, Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K.
Jagdev Singh , PET, presented the vote of thanks.
The Events were officiated by Kuldeep Raj, Tour Kumar, Deep Singh, Mohd Riaz, Naresh Kumar, Ajay Wadhera, Goutam Kundal, Ramesh Chander, Balbir Singh, Jugal Koshore, Dinesh Singh, Saroj Bala, Pardeep Nag, Harpreet Kour and Narinder Kour.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Udhampur Swarn Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.
Around 68 girls drawn from 11 Government and private educational institutions of the district took part in the meet.
In 100 mts race, Arushi of Army Public School clinched first position while in 200mtr, race Priya of Higher Secondary School Ghar Dhama stood first, whereas in 400 mts, Shameena of Higher Secondary School Ghar Dhama got first position.
In 800 mts, Parveen of Higher Secondary School Ghar Dhama bagged first position, while in 1500 mts, Sonia of Higher Secondary School Pakhlai secured 1st position, in 3000 mts Simran Sharma of Higher Secondary School Garhi clinched first position respectively.
Similarly, in Relay Race 400×100 Arushi, KNL Bhavani, Pryinka, Sugandi of Army Public School emerged winners.
Meanwhile, KNL Bhawani of APS was adjudged first in Long jump, while Tanisha of Higher Secondary School Girls Udhampur stood first in High jump event. The Shot put event was won by Isha of BBSVP Higher Secondary School Udhampur and Discuss event was won by Supriya Verma of Higher Secondary School Rang.
