JAMMU, Apr 3: Jammu’s housewife, Sapna Jain has established a new Asian record in 45 kg Masters category in the Masters & Juniors National Powerlifting Champi-onship at Jamshedpur.
Resident of Trikuta Nagar, Jammu and mother of two grown up boys, 40 years old Sapna lifted a total of 215 kg weight in her category and won the gold medal, creating a new National as well as Asian record.
Her husband, Pankaj Jain is a leading businessman of Jammu while her father-in-law is, Pawan Jain, is a noted social activist & Chairman of the Gandhi Nagar Green Belt Morning Walkers Association.
This was Sapna’s first tryst with National Champi-onship.
Earlier, she has been competing within the State and winning medals.
