Jammu eves face Samba in summit clash

JAMMU, Aug 22: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, the girls of Samba and Jammu have made it to the finals of the 26th Volleyball State championship, being organized by J&K Volleyball Association at Bandipora.
Earlier, in the 1st semifinal, Samba beat Budgam (2-0) by (25-7, 25-18), while in the 2nd semifinal Jammu beat Baramulla (2-0) by (25-18, 25-19).
Meanwhile in the boys section, Ramban trounced Budgam by (25-12, 25-14); Udhampur beat Anantnag by (25-9, 26-24); Samba outplayed Pulwama by (25-14, 25-17); Kathua beat Budgam by (25-1, 25-14); Ramban got better of Shopian by (25-19, 25-19); Poonch beat Pulwama by (25-13, 20-25, 15-10); Baramulla prevailed over Anantnag by (25-16, 25-16), while Udhampur and Samba got walkover against Ganderbal and Srinagar respectively.
The matches were officiated by S Amarjeet Singh, Mulkh Raj Sharma, Manik Nargotra and Naresh Kumar.
