Jammu drubs Udhampur to face Ganderbal in summit clash

KATHUA, Oct 20: District Jammu defeated Udhampur by 17 runs in the semifinal to make way for the final and face Ganderbal in the summit clash, which got better of Pulwama in another semifinal at Degree College Kathua and Sports Stadium, here today.
Now, Jammu will take on Ganderbal in the summit clash at Sports Stadium, here tomorrow.
Earlier, Jammu won the toss and elected to bat first to score a modest total of 102 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
Salmaan Raza and Navjot Singh contributed 30 and 17 runs to the total respectively. For Udhampur, Vikas Bhat was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 4 important wickets, while Sanket and Sunil bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, Udhampur bundled out for a paltry total of 85 runs and lost the match by 17 runs, helping Jammu to enter the finals. Abhimod, Apekshit and Sunil contributed 22, 18 and 13 runs to the total respectively. For Jammu, Hitesh Thakur and Tayyab Farooq claimed 2 wickets each.
Earlier, in another semifinal, Ganderbal defeated Pulwama in an easy contest to lock horns with Jammu in the title clash.
The match was officiated by Jaipal Singh Mohan Lal as umpires.
The Jammu team is being accompanied by Madan Mohan and Mohd Farooq as coach and manager respectively.
