JAMMU, May 20: District Jammu dominated day-1 of Under-14 boys and girls State level inter-district basket ball championship, which got underway at Basketball Court in M A Stadium, here.
Earlier, Jammu district defeated Srinagar district by (18-8) in girls section, while Jammu crushed Kupwara district by (34-0) in the boys section.
In another match of basketball Under-14 girls, Udhampur district defeated Samba by (13-5), while in other two matches of boys section, Baramulla blanked Reasi by (18-0) and Srinagar drubbed Udhampur by (12-2).
In all,14 districts comprising of 9 in boys section and 5 in girls section are competing for the top honours.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports.
Meanwhile, the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Jammu is organizing inter-school gymnastic tournament for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls at the Gymnasium Hall of BSF School, Paloura.
