JAMMU, Sept 3: The Indoor Hall at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, hosted the opening ceremony for the Jammu Division Club Taekwondo Championships 2024 today. The event, featuring approximately 450 participants across Pee Wee, Sub Junior, Cadet, Junior, and Senior categories (Boys & Girls) from all districts of Jammu Division, marks a significant moment in the region’s sporting calendar.
Organized by the J&K Taekwondo Association with support from the Taekwondo Federation of India and the J&K Sports Council, the championships are held under the banner “My Youth My Pride.”
Key figures at the event included chief guest Vikas Gupta (Vice President, Judo Federation of India), guest of honour Munish and Chandeep Singh, an International Taekwondo Para Medalist, who served as an observer. The refereeing panel comprises distinguished officials including Nittin Singh Rathore, Amit Kumar and Rashmi Abrol, among others.
The championships promise to highlight the skills and spirit of young athletes and promote greater enthusiasm for Taekwondo in the region.
