Jammu boy slams mammoth ton at NCA

JAMMU, May 29: Attending the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s Coaching/ Training Camp at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore, the promising young cricketer of Jammu and Kashmir, hailing from Jammu, Shubam Khajuria slammed a mammoth ton (191) runs including 31 boundaries and 4 sixes in a 2-Day match between NCA Reds and NCA Blues, today.
NCA Reds skipper Shubam Khajuria won the toss and elected to bat first on a batting friendly track.
Riding on a blistering knock of 191 runs by Shubam Khajuria and a superb innings of 102 runs by Arman Jaffer of Mumbai, NCA Reds scored a decent total of 428 runs in their innings by losing 6 wickets. Shubam Mavi of Uttar Pradesh and Prem Kumar of Jharkhand took 2 wickets each for NCA Blues.
NCA Blues, in reply, bundled out for 244 runs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 184 runs. Mohd Saif Raza scored fabulous 119 runs. For NCA Reds, speedster Pankaj Jaiswal of Himachal Pradesh was the wrecker-in-chief, who wrecked havoc in rival camp by bowling with nagging line and teasing length and scalping 7 important wickets.
It is pertinent to mention here that Shubam Khajuria is on a 45-day Coaching Camp for Under-16 cricketers at BCCI’s National Cricket Academy (NCA), under the supervision of India’s reputed coach Dinesh Nanawate. This 15-year old boy was picked for this prestigious Camp for his consistent performances at the national scene last year. He created a record in the history of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) by representing J&K in Under-16, Under-19, Under-22 and Ranji Trophy in a particular season last year.
