JAMMU, Apr 20: After the successful conduct of ‘Jagruk Hindustani Premier Cricket League’ in October 2015, an event that struck a popular cord with the border area youth of the Jammu Region, Rising Star Corps is organizing a similar event this time for ‘Volleyball’ which is one of the most popular sport in the border and rural areas of Jammu region.
Jagruk Hindustani Premier Volleyball League for youth of border region from Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts kicked off yesterday and was in full swing, here today.
A total of 64 teams comprising of local participants from Damana, RS Pura, Bari Brahmana, Samba, Kathua and Janglot are participating in the event with the aim of reaching the grand finals to be played at Samba on 14th May 2016.
The sport will give an opportunity to the local youth of Jammu to come to the forefront and inculcate the spirit of healthy competition.
A total of 26 matches were held today in the ongoing Phase I of the Jagruk Hindustani Premier Volleyball League. Teams of Deani, Jatwal, Regal, S Kalan, Raiyan, Damana, Pargawal, Molu, Dehi Chak, Alla, Fathu Chak, Salehar, Samka, Mela Club, Degree College Kathua, Harkeet Club, Jai Baba Sidhgoria, Kaulpur, JBC, Khaur, Janial I, Janial II, 2r, Baniyari 2 and Gurjar Chak emerged victorious in the keenly contested matches that were held today.
