Jagriti Mission, BVM among 5 enter QFs in girls section of Dr Hedgewar Gold Cup

JAMMU, Apr 26: Jagriti Mission Talab Tillo and Bhartiya Vidya Mandir were among five teams to enter quarterfinals in girls section of the ongoing Dr Hedgewar T20 Kabaddi Gold Cup, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association at Kabaddi Field, MA Stadium, here.
In the pre-quarterfinals played in girls section today, Jagriti Mission defeated Sarvodya Public School by 19 points, Green Model Public School got the better of DBN Mubarak Mandi by 5 points, SD Tarapuri trounced KS Public School by 9 points, Bhartiya Public High School Birpur beat Raj Kamal Hr Secondary School by 11 points and Bhartiya Vidya Mandir outplayed Sai Shayam Public School by 16 points.
In boys section, Tiny Tots Hr Secondary School trounced Abhay Hr Secondary School by 19 points, St. Francis Hr Secondary School drubbed Bhartya Vidya Mandir by 11 points, Raj Kamal Hr Secondary School defeated Jagriti Mission Public School by 13 points, Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya outclassed New National Hr Secondary School by 26 points, Raina Hr Secondary School beat Sarswati Institution of Research by 18 points, Govt. High School Pull Tawi thrashed Universal Hr Secondary School by 19 points, New National Hr Secondary School beat Red Rose Public School by 4 points, New Era Public School prevailed over Govt High School Nawabad by 6 points, Ranbir Hr Secondary School got better of Dogra Hr. Secondary School by 17 points and Public High School Mishriwala beat Oriental Academy by 7 points.
Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks and MLC Ramesh Arora were the chief guests on day-4 of the Championship, today, who interacted with the players and officials on the occasion.
They were accompanied by Parneesh Mahajan, Chairman NSM Group of Colleges and schools, Abay Pargal of RSS, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of Association, Surinder Mohan, General Secretary of the Association, Karunesh Gupta, Organizing Secretary, Anil Modi, Press Secretary, Sangram Singh, Treasurer of the Association and Dinesh Gupta, Secretary Jammu Kabaddi Association.
On the occasion, Priya Sethi announced Rs 5 lakh from her CDF for the construction of Pavilion Shed in Kabaddi Field MA Stadium, while Ramesh Arora announced Rs 8 lakh for the same purpose from his CDF.
Both the dignitaries appreciated the organizers and the office bearers of Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association for organizing the mega events and promoting the ‘Swadeshi’ game.
Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of the Association while welcoming the chief guest informed that Priya Sethi, apart from announcing 5 lakh, has already announced Ambulance for the players in the last Kabaddi Championship held in Jammu.
