LEH, Dec 8: The North West Frontier of I.T.B. Police initiated an expedition to Mt. Stok Kangri 2016 in Ladakh sector.
The Expedition took place in the winter months of November and December.
Arjun Singh Negi, Commandant 5th BN ITBP, an experienced and avid mountaineer himself was the leader for this Expedition.
Unlike other Expeditions where the aim is to summit the peak, the aim of this Expedition was multi-faceted.
The team was flagged off by SK Choudhary (DIG Ldk) from 5th BN Leh ITBP earlier on November 25, 2016.
In all 14 climbers managed to summit the peak. Both the ropes had managed to summit the peak.
Medical data was collected for further research by Dr Tundup, communication systems and other equipments were validated tor their ‘worthiness and operability. On the way hack, the team ensured to collect the garbage, fulfilling its scared duty to nature, society and future generation of mountaineers.
The team was flagged in RC Baijwan, IG OPS/INT/VET, Dte. Gen ITBP at Kumbha hall 24th BN.
