JAMMU, Feb 28: The finals of Ist Kuldip Chander Sharma(Tyagmurti) Memorial Cricket Tournament at was held between the Green Fields Cricket Academy and Sehwag Cricket Academy at Country cricket grounds , here today.
Green Fields Academy defeated Sehwag Cricket Academy by virtue of first innings lead.
Green fields in the 1st innings scored 203 runs in 53 overs. Harman Preet Singh scalped 5 wickets and Jasbir Singh took 3 wickets. In reply, Sehwag Cricket Academy made 87 runs. Shivansh and Harmanpreet Singh scored 32 an 16 runs respectively. Sant Baksh took 5 wickets and Tayab bagged 3 wickets.
In their 2nd innings, Green Fields scored 165 runs with the contribution of Raghav Sharma 47 and Aryan Chopra 24. The match was decided on the basis of first inning lead in favour of Green Fields Academy. The match was officiated by Shugal Kumar and Sadiq Hussain.
Former Minister, Bali Bhagat, MLA Raipur Domana Constituency was the chief guest, who lavished praise for the organizers on holding the event which provided platform to budding cricketers to showcase their skill.
He applauded the role of the sportsmen in the Nation building.
The Tournament was organized joint by Country Cricket Academy and Project Model School, under the supervision of Vikrant Sharma and Vivek Sahrma.
Prominent among others present on the occasion, apart from some Working committee members of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, were Sarpanch Gharota, Narinder Singh, Senior Advocate JP Nanda, Sandeep Singh, Ashwani Kumar and Surjit Singh.
