RAMBAN, Jan 3: First District Boxing Championship, organised by by J& K Amateur Boxing Association under the aegis of Boxing Federation of India, J& K Olympics Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council, held at Prayas Hemkrish High School Govindpura Maitra, here today.
Pawan Singh, Member of MHRD Govt of India, Skill India State Coordinator was the chief guest, while Renuka Katoch, DDC Ramban-B was the guest of honour, and SK Suman Atri Principal of the School and Gurdeep Singh Chib (BJYM District President) were present during the event.
in juniors boys 48 kg, Ranjeet Singh and Balbir Singh won gold and silver medals respectively, while in 50kg, Ubaid Katoch and Veer Singh secured top two medals respectively and in 60 kg, top three medals were clinched by Zuhaib Katoch, Munawar Khan and Yayati Singh respectively, whereas in sub juniors boys 44 kg, top three medals were won by Hritik Singh, Kitren Singh and Kirten Chib respectively, while in 46 kg, Sourab Badyal won gold, while Andeep Singh clinched silver medal and in 42 kg, silver and gold were secured by Vikrant Singh and Shiv Balwal respectively, besides in 35 kg, Gagan Singh and Aman Singh won gold and silver medals.
in girls junior 52 kg category, the gold and silver medals were won by Sajal Manhas and Reema Devi, while in 48 kg, Samta Devi won gold medal and was declared as best boxer of the tournament, while Sanjeeta Devi secured silver medal.
In sub-junior 48 kg, Tanvi Katoch and Sheetal Devi won top two medals respectively, while in 46 kg, Kajal Devi and Shristhi Sharma won gold and silver medals respectively.
