JAMMU, Sept 7: Ishuk Chowdhary will lock horns with Vidit Gawri in the summit clash of the ongoing Senior Snooker Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards Association (JKBA), at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Ishuk Chowdhary beat Abhi Gupta by 4-1. Ishuk registered win in the first frame by 69-07 and also won the second frame by 55-08. In the third frame, Abhi made a comeback by winning the third frame by 52-14, but could not hold the nerve for long time and lost the fourth and fifth frames to Ishuk by 56-36 and 52-25 respectively.
Vidit Gawri defeated Sohail Khalid by straight 4-0 frames (55-16, 53-19, 81-74 and 55-30) and set his clash with Ishuk in the final of the Championship.
Meanwhile, Kunal Jamwal beat Vipin Malhi by straight 3-0 frames and won the Junior Snooker Championship title.
However, Furkan Wani, Samarth Amla and Aman Chowdhary crushed rivals in their respective matches and made it to next round of the ongoing Junior Billiards Championship, being played at same venue, here.
In the first match, Padam Gupta registered win over Umang Gupta by 2-0 (50-24 and 50-40), but lost to Samarth Sharma in the fourth match by 2-1 (50-29, 48-52 and 51-48).
Furkan Wani won the second game against Sankalp Soni by 2-0 (50-26 and 50-29) and in the third match, Manik Sharma thrashed Basit Wani by 2-1 (38-50, 52-42 and 50-18), but failed to enter in the next round of the Championship by losing to Sanand Sharma in the sixth match by straight 2-0 frames (50-34 and 50-32).
In the fifth match, Aman Chowdhary crushed Vasu Gupta by straight 2-1 frames (51-31, 49-50 and 50-37) and in the seventh match, Sanand lost to Aman Chouwdhary by straight 2-1 frames (51-40, 23-50 and 50-22.
