NEW DELHI, Aug 20:The Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday came up with their new logo for 13th edition of IPL 2020 after cracking a deal for cash-rich league’s new title sponsor for the tournament.
The IPL took to Instagram to share a story with a picture of the new logo, with the hashtag “#Dream11IPL”, and asked fans how they liked it.
Defending champions Mumbai Indians, who will be playing the opening match of the upcoming season on September 19 in the UAE, also shared the logo on their Instagram, and wrote “Now taking guard, #Dream11IPL”.
Earlier, on Wednesday, BCCI, had officially said fantasy cricket league platform Dream11 as the title sponsor for the 2020 season of the IPL.
Dream11 on Tuesday bagged IPL title sponsorship for Rs 222 crore leaving behind companies like Tata Sons, Unacademy and Byju’s to seal deal for the league.
The IPL was left without a title sponsor, after BCCI and Chinese smartphone makers Vivo suspended their sponsorship deal for this year due to rising tensions at border between both the countries.
Under the deal with Vivo, BCCI were receiving Rs 440 crore per year.
The IPL was earlier due to take place on March 29, but was further deferred due to COVID-19.
The league will kick off in the UAE starting September 19 to November 10. (UNI)
