JAMMU, Sept 2: The investiture ceremony for the academic session 2016-17 was held at Sainik School Nagrota in which meritorious cadets were honoured with various school and house level appointments.
A special morning assembly was conducted at the School Auditorium to mark this occasion. The selected cadets turned out in immaculate attires for the pipping up ceremony.
The programme began with the recital of the school song in unison by the cadets.
Colonel Kapil Dev Koushal, Principal pipped the cadets with epaulettes signifying the appointment of Class Captains for all sections, House Captains of Trikuta, Azad, Bhagat and Subhash Houses and the School Appointments viz. School Adjutant, Sports Captain and School Captain.
For the current academic session, Cadet Molu Prasad has been appointed as School Adjutant, Cadet Manjeet Singh as Sports Captain and Cadet Abdul Manan as School Captain.
In his address to the cadets, Principal brought out the importance of the cadet appointment system in elite public schools and its role in developing leadership traits among young cadets and in preparing them for a challenging career as officers in defence forces.
He emphasized that the appointments must be unbiased in dealing with the fellow cadets and set exemplary standards of discipline for others to emulate.
