SRINAGAR, May 22: The Directorate of Physical Education and Sports today initiated Inter Departmental Road Race for both Men and Women at Kashmir University Campus, here today.
Total 87 students from different departments participated.
Overall 50 boys and 37 girls participated from various departments and satellite campuses of University of Kashmir.
This activity is regular feature of DPE&S. Prof Naseer Iqbal worthy Registrar of University of Kashmir extended greeting to participants and motivated them to come forward and participate in all sports activities.
Dr. Naseer Iqbal congratulated the Directorate for successfully organizing such a mega event. The Medalists in category men and women were felicitated by Dr Mandeep Singh, Director, Directorate of Physical Education and Sports.
Dr Mandeep Singh congratulated all Medalists. Speaking on occasion he stressed upon all to participate more and more in sports activities and bring laurels to university in general and the UT in particular.
In Men section Mir Riyaz of Deptt of Mathematics bagged Gold Medal, Amir Saleem of Law Department won Silver and Abid Amin Khan holds Bronze Medal.
In girls section Inayat Farooq of MPEd and Hurmah Shah of Law Department clinched Gold Medals, Sumy Jan bagged Silver Medal and Iqra Bano of MPEd won Bronze.
Azad Shah, Athletic Coach, Youth Services & Sports was the external expert of the event.
The event was culminated successfully under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Mandeep Singh, Director, DPE&S.
