JAMMU, Apr 23: Inter School District level competition in the sports disciplines of Taekwondo, Wushu, Kick Boxing, Boxing, Thang-Tha, Slumbum and Sqay Martial Arts for Girls Under-14 and Under-17 years got underway at Indoor Hall, M.A Stadium and at Shastri Memorial HSS, Subash Nagar, here.
The tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports as part of annual calendar of sports activities for the year 2016-17 under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu and under the overall supervision of Sukhdev Raj, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Jammu.
Results: Taekwondo U-14 Girls -32 kg Ashima Sharma of JK Public 1stand Jagriti of APA Miran Sahib 2nd;-38 kg, Siya 1st and Ankita APS Miran Sahib 2nd; +38 kg Radhika Dutta of C.P Public School 1st and Shubham 2nd.
In Taekwondo U-17 Girls,-38 kg Sumit Kour of APS Miran Sahib 1st and Neha of GMS Nardibali 2nd; -41 kg Mansi Dubey of Shastri Memorial 1st and Ivdeep Kour of APS Miran Sahib 2nd;-44 kg Komal of St. Xavier School 1st and Sonali Chib 2nd.
The matches were officiated by Varinder Sharma, Anil Singh, Taruna, Raman Sharma, Rajesh Bandral and, Ravinder Singh
In Wushu U/17 Girls, -52 kg Akanksha of St. Francis stood 1st, while Arushi Sharma of GD Goenka claimed second spot.
In -60 kg Riya Chib of Tiny Tots bagged 1st place, while Ritika Malhotra of St. Francis won 2nd place.
The matches were officiated by Ajay Pal Gill, Kamal Singh and Arun.
