Inter-School Zonal Level competitions conclude

JAMMU, Aug 29: The four-day long Inter-School Zonal Level Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Tug-of-War, Cricket, Football, Basketball, Chess, Carrom, Badminton and Wrestling competitions for Under-19 boys and girls reached an exciting conclusion at the Indoor Stadium, Akhnoor here today.
The event, organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports Zone Akhnoor, witnessed intense matches and showcased the exceptional sporting talents of young athletes from various institutions.
About 530 students including 280 boys and 250 girls from Govt. and Private Institutions of Akhnoor Zone participated in the competitions.
In the closing ceremony, I/C ZPEO Akhnoor Ashok Kumar expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the winners and runners-up teams who showcased exceptional sportsmanship throughout the competition. He commended their dedication, hard work, and spirit of healthy competition and also acknowledged the efforts of the organizing committee, especially technical Committee of the event and officials who contributed to the smooth execution of the event.
Manager Indoor Stadium, Akhnoor, Jugal Kishore highlighted the invaluable life lessons that discipline stills in young players, echoing the sentiment that sports not only cultivate physical prowess but also shape character. The results were in Under-19 Boys- Kabaddi; GHS Kotli Tanda defeated APS Akhnoor by one point. Kho-Kho: GBHSS Akhnoor outplayed GHSS Narrari Bala by four points. Volleyball: APS Akhnoor outplayed GHSS Sohal by five points. Tug-of-War: APS Akhnoor defeated GHSS Narrari Bala.
In under-19 Girls- Kabaddi: GGHSS Akhnoor defeated GHSS Sohal by three points. Kho-Kho: GGHSS Akhnoor beat GHSS Narrari Bala by four points. Volleyball: GGHSS Akhnoor outplayed APS Akhnoor by 10 points. Tug-of-War: St. Fr. Hr. Sec. School defeated GHSS Sohal.
