JAMMU, Aug 25: The Inter-School Tournaments in various zones including Satwari, Marh, RS Pura, Bhalwal, Miran Sahib, Akhnoor and Jammu in the disciplines of Under-19 boys and girls’ kho-kho, kabaddi, volleyball and wrestling concluded here.
In the joint venture of RS Pura and Miran Sahib zones, Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) RS Pura got better of HSS Sai in two straight sets in volleyball final, while in semifinals, HSS RS Pura defeated APS Miran Sahib and HSS Sai beat HSS Chakrohi.
In kho-kho Under-19 boys, HSS RS Pura prevailed over HSS Chakrohi by 2 points in a close contest (12-10).
The Tournament was held under the supervision of ZPEOs Sarita Pandha.and Hira Lal Pandita.
In the Inter-School Tournament of Satwari zone held at HS Cantt Satwari, GHSS Mandal beat HSS Bhour Camp by 3 points in kho-kho Under-19 boys, while in kabaddi Under-19 boys, HSS Bhour Camp drubbed HSS Mandal by 12 points and in volleyball Under-19 boys, HSS Sujuwan got better of HSS Channi Himmat by (2-0) sets.
In kho-kho Under-19 girls final, HSS Satwari beat HSS Shastri Nagar by 10 points, while in kabaddi girls final, HSS Shastri Nagar got better of HSS Satwari by 16 points. Wresting events were also held during the tournament. Headmaster High School Jammu Cantt was the chief guest on the occasion, while ZPEO Gandhi Nagar, Jeet Singh was present on the occasion.
The matches were organized by Chamel Singh, Ram Murti, Hardev Singh, Sanjay Sharma, Rani Gupta, Jatinder Kour, Chander Kanta, Sunita Rani, Lata Sharma, Tarsem Lal, Jai Karan and Bunty Jad.
In Akhnoor zone, Inter-School Tournament in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling, under the age group of 19 years was held under the overall supervision of Sher Singh, ZPEO Akhnoor at HSS Akhnoor.
In kabaddi, HSS Sohal trounced HSS Nardiwala by 19 points, while in kho-kho, HSS Nardiwala drubbed GHSS Akhnoor by 1 point in a close contest and in volleyball, GHSS Akhnoor prevailed over HSS Dori Dager by (2-0) sets.
At Marh zone, the tournament was held under the overall supervision of Chanchal Kour, ZPEO, while Govind Ram Sharma, Principal HSS Domana was the chief guest.
The matches were held in all the above mentioned four events, which were officiated by Surinder Singh, Sudesh Khajuria, Koushal Kumar, Surinder Singh, Hardutt Sharma, Pavitar Singh, Jai Krishan, Ravi Kumar, Ajit Singh, Kusum Lata, Rakesh Kumar, Jai Singh and Champki Pandita.
In Bhalwal zone the tournament was held in HSS Bhalwal, under the supervision of Bhim Singh, ZPEO Bhalwal.
In kho-kho Under-19 girls, HSS Gharota beat HSS Bhalwal by 2 points (8-6), while in volleyball Under-19 girls, APS Domana defeated HSS Bhalwal by (2-0) sets.
In Jammu zone, the tournament was held under the overall supervision of Kiran Jyoti, ZPEO, Jammu, while Kamla Devi, Principal HSS Bakshi Nagar was the chief guest.
In kho-kho final, HSS Nowabad defeated HSS Jajjar Kotli by (2-1) points, while in kabaddi summit clash, Hari Singh HSS trounced HSS Bakshi Nagar by 15 points and in volleyball, DIP Kathar Manwal got better of HS Paloura by (2-0) sets.
