Inter-School Tournament gets underway

JAMMU, May 28: The District Level Inter-School Tournament in the disciplines of taekwondo, judo, gymnastics, yoga, squay and boxing got underway at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
The Tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the chairmanship of Ved Parkash, Deputy Director, Jammu and under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
In all, 500 players drawn from Jammu district are participating in the tournament, which is being held as part of annual calendar of activities to pick the teams of Jammu district for participation of Inter-District Tournaments.
Earlier, in boxing Under-14 boys, Aditya Jamwal of BSF School Paloura toppled Bhuwneshwar of KC Gurukul, while Parveen Kumar of BSF School got better of Dawood of KC Gurukul. Those who claimed gold in various categories included Prajuwal Jamwal of BSF School, Saksham Jasrotia of the same School, Ankit of KC Gurukul, Saksham Bhatia of BSF School, Arjun of KC Gurukul, Sisharth of KC Gurukul, Sourav of BSF School and Vivek Jakhar of BSF School.
