DODA, July 17: Inter- School Sports Competition at cluster level was held in Government Hr. Sec. School Chiralla in which 78 students of elementary classes hailing from different schools of cluster Chiralla participated actively in discipline of Kabaddi, Volleyball and Cricket.
Acting Principal of the institution, Shamim Ahmad graced the function as a chief guest.
Sports competition was organised and managed by HSS Chiralla with an objective of giving exposure to the students studying in far flung areas of cluster.
Kabaddi: In semifinal; Govt. UPS Bolian and Evergreen Public School Chiralla defeated Government HSS Chiralla and Govt. UPS Doki respectively and qualified for final.
In final, Evergreen Public School Chiralla registered win by beating UPS Bolian by 17-23. Surjeet Singh PET, acted as referee and Viney Kumar teacher was the scorer.
Volleyball: In semifinal; Government UPS Bachhra and Government UPS Doki qualified for final by beating HSS Chiralla “A” and HSS Chiralla “B” respectively. However, in final, Government UPS Doki defeated Government UPS Bachhra by 15-9.
Shahbaz Akhter Physical Education Teacher under RMSA and Bhupinder Singh lecturer acted as umpires.
Cricket: In final; Government UPS Dhalla won the toss and asked Evergreen Public School to bat first. Evergreen public school set a target of 45 runs in five overs for loss of five wickets.
In reply, UPS Dhalla managed to score 32 runs in five overs loosing six wickets. As a result, Evergreen Public school won the match by 12 runs.
The match was officiated by Maninder Singh, Narinder Kumar and Rahul Kumar as umpires where as Manish Kumar and Anchal Singh were scorers. Ranjeet Singh was the commentator.
In his brief address, acting Principal, Shamim Ahmad congratulated the winning teams and encouraged all the participants. Trophies were also distributed among the winners and runners-up teams.
