Inter-School Athletic Meet gets underway

JAMMU, Sept 2: District Level Inter-School Athletic Meet got underway at M.A Stadium, here today.
The competitions was declared open by Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu in the presence of all ZPEO’s of District Jammu. In all 556 boys took part in the competition.
The tournament is being organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports as a part of Annual calendar of sports activities under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports and  Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
In 100 mtrs Under-14 boys, Tamandeep of APS Miran Sahib won gold, while Mohit of MHAC Nagbani and Akashdeep of Banyan International School claimed silver and bronze respectively, while in 100 meters Under-17 boys, Sajad Hussain of Govt HSS Sagoon clinched gold, Keshav Chib of MHAC Nagbani won silver and Shivam Kumar of Govt BHS Digiana won bronze and in 100 meters Under-19 boys, Aman Tiwari of Model Academy bagged gold, Sahil Manhas of Govt HS Rehal won silver and Ayush Sharma of SRML HSS claimed bronze.
The competitions in long jump, shot put and relay races were also held on the opening day of the Meet.
