JAMMU, Aug 28: District Level Inter-School Under-19 boys Athletic Meet got underway at MA Stadium, here today.
Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Kanchan Bala visited the venue and assessed the arrangements.
Earlier, the Meet was declared open by Sukhdev Raj, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as part of the Annual Calendar of Activities, under the supervision of Ved Parkash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu.
Earlier, in 100 meters Under-19 boys, Aadish Billoria of SRML won gold, while Vivarsran Sawhney of DBN School and Amit Verma of GHSS Bhour Camp claimed silver and bronze medals respectively.
Rehman Ali of GHSS Bishnah bagged gold in shot put, while Mastam Singh of KV No-2 and Ajay Sangral of BHSS Gandhi Nagar claimed silver and bronze respectively.
In 800 meters, Yashpal Tinku of MHAC Nagbani, Probjot Singh of SRML HSS and Sunny Choudhary of HSS Gho Manhasan claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 5000 meters, Zahoor Elahi of BSF clinched gold, Ajay Khajuria of GHSS Bishnah bagged silver and Ghar Singh of GHSS Domana won bronze.
In long jump, Rajinder Kumar of HSS Marh, Vishal Singh of HSS Pargwal and Ajay Singh of HSS Allah bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in discus throw, Rehman Ali of GHSS Bishnah claimed gold, while Roshan Dev won silver and Mastam Singh of K V No-2 claimed bronze.
