Inter House T20 Cricket Tournament begins at GGM Science College

JAMMU, Feb 24: An Inter House Cricket Tournament of Hostel Boarders of GGM Science College got underway at the Hostel ground of College, here today.
Ten teams are participating in the Tournament with around 130 students of the College Hostel taking part.
Dr Ajeet Angral, Principal of the College advised the students to take maximum benefit from such tournaments being organized by the Hostel Committee.
He appreciated the efforts of the Hostel Warden, Dr. Vinod Bakshi for involving the boarders in various extension activities.
On the opening day of this Tournament, Prof. Ashok Kumar, HoD Chemistry was the chief guest. In the first match which was played between Vivekananda House and Gandhi House in which Vivekananda House beat Gandhi House by 43 runs. Ujwal of Vivekananda House made 60 runs and was declared as man of the match. In the second match which was played between Nehru and Bhagat Singh House, Nehru House made 131 runs and in reply, Bhagat Singh House made 117 runs, thus Nehru House won the match by 14 runs. Krishan Kant of Nehru House made 55 runs and was declared as the man of the match.
On this occasion, Dr. Ashok Kumar appreciated the organizers for providing opportunity to the students to hone their skill. Prof Ranjit Singh Jamwal, Prof. Neeraj Sharma, (Staff Secretary) Prof Jagjit Singh, Prof. Anil Kumar and Prof Baldev Sharma were also present on the occasion.
