JAMMU, May 22: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, under the overall supervision of Prof Dhian S Bhau, Chairman, Campus Sports Committee, organized Inter-Hostel Tournament in the disciplines of badminton, table tennis and carom, here.
In table tennis men, Old Hostel Boys beat Baba Jitto Hostel by (2 -0). In the first match, Vicky Sharma outplayed Shakti Kumar by (11-4, 11-5) and in another match, Sahil Sharma got better of Maninder Kumar by (11-07, 12-10).
In badminton men, Old Hostel Boys drubbed Baba Jitto Hostel by (2 –1). Sandeep of Old Campus thrashed Viney of Baba Jitto by (21-08), Sohit of Baba Jitto prevailed over Ashwini of Old Hostel by (21-10), while the pair of Sandeep and Ashwini of Old Campus defeated Vinay and Sahil of Baba Jitto by (21-17).
In carrom men, Old Hostel Boys got better of Baba Jitto Hostel by (2-1). Maninder of Baba Jitto beat Sahil of Old Hostel, Vicky of Old Hostel defeated Jitender Pal of Baba Jitto and Vicky of Old Hostel beat Maninder of Baba Jitto.
The matches were officiated by Raj Kumar, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar and Vikas Karlopia, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Nisha Sharma and Jai Bharat.
