*DC-XI lifts title trophy

DODA, Jan 29: DC-XI beat SP-XI with 21 runs in the finals of Inter-Departmental Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament and lifted the title trophy, organised by the District Administration Doda under overall supervision of District Development Commissioner (DDC), Dr Sagar D Doifode in coordination with District Health Society and Sports Department at Sports Stadium, here today.
Batting first, DC-XI scored moderate 79 runs, whereas opponent team failed to chase the target and bundled out at 57 runs and lost the match by 21 runs.
DDC, Dr Sagar D Doifode was the chief guest of the concluding ceremony, whereas SSP, Mumtaz Ahmed was invited as guest of honour.
Four teams including DC-XI, SP-XI, COVID Warriors and GMC XI participated in the two days tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC congratulated players of all the teams for demonstrating great show of sportsmanship, besides asked the youth to come forward to participate in these kind of sports activities.
Later, the DDC along with SSP handed over the trophy to the winning team and awarded participating players. Principal GMC Doda, Dr Tariq Azad, Dy Commandant IRP 5th Bn PN Tikoo, CMO Doda, Dr Yaqoob Mir, ACD Doda Prem Singh Chib, DYSSO Doda Jaffar Haider Sheikh besides other officials of Sports Department and organising committee were also present during the function.
