Inter-Collegiate Wrestling Championship gets underway

JAMMU, Oct 9: An Inter-Collegiate Wrestling Championship (Men) got underway at Jammu University Gymnasium Hall, here today.
The Championship was inaugurated by Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Around 80 wrestlers from drawn from 12 different Colleges participated in this Championship.
In 50 kg, Farman Ali of GDC Billawar beat Imran of MAM College, Jammu, Jeevan Singh of GDC Reasi trounced Jagdev Singh of PG Deptt.
In 55 kg, Balkar Singh, GDC R.S. Pura beat Sanjit  Bhargava Degree College and Sher Singh of New Age College drubbed Anil Kumar of GGM Science College and in 60 kg, Ajay of SPMR College of Commerce toppled Sanjit Singh of Bhargava Degree College and Vicku Sharma of MAM College got better of Anil Kumar of GDC Hiranagar.
Other results:
66kg: Prem Singh, New Age College Beat Attar Din, GDC Kathua and Abishek, GGM Science College trounced Manmohan, GDC Udhampur.
74kg: Shamsher Khan, MAM College outplayed Rohit, GDC Udhampur and Ashique Hussain, GDC Kathua beat Deepak, GGM Science College.
84kg:Sachin Sharma, GGM Science College outclassed Sandeep, MAM College and Arjun, GDC Hiranagar drubbed Sahil, GDC Akhnoor.
96kg: Shubam Singh, Bhargava Degree College beat Sheran Mirza, PG Deptt and Mohd  Asif. MAM College defeated Aman Sharma, GGM Science College.
The Semifinals and finals will be held tomorrow at 10 am at the same venue.
The technical official who conducted the Championship included Jai Bharat, Bansi Lal Tidyal, Mulkh Raj, Sanjeev Jamwal and Sandeep Sharma.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr Vinod Bakshi, Narayani Jamwal, Balbir Singh, Roshan Sharma, Mukesh Sharma and Romesh Sharma.
