JAMMU, Aug 26: Inter Collegiate Table Tennis Tournament in men and women categories, being organized by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu got underway as Gymnasium Hall.
The tournament was declared open by Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
In Men Section, the first match was played between PG Department and SPMR College of Commerce, in which former registered win by 3-1 sets and sailed into next round of the tournament.
In the second match, MAM College beat GGM Science College by 3-1 sets and entered into next stage of the tournament.
In third match, GMC got walkover from GCET Jammu, in fourth match, GDC Paloura got walkover from ASCOMS, in fifth match, Trikuta Degree College got walkover from MBS College, in sixth match GDC Kathua got walkover from GDC Mendhar and in the seventh match, GDC Udhampur got walkover from GDC Akhnoor.
In Women Section, the first match was played between GWC Parade and GDC Paloura, in which former registered win by straight 3-0 sets.
In second match, PG Department got walkover from GDC Rajouri, in third match GDC Kathua got walkover from GDC Udhampur and in the fourth match, Government SPMR College of Commerce got walkover from ASCOMS.
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Gourav Sharma, Kumar Tarun and Amit Sharma.
