JAMMU, Sept 26: PG Department and Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar won their opening ties on the inaugural day of the Inter- Collegiate Basketball (Women) Tournament 2017-18, being organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu at University’s Basketball Court, here.
Earlier, PG Department outplayed ASCOMS, Sidhra in a one-sided affair by 42-05, while Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar defeated GDC Kathua by 25-18.
Meanwhile, GCW Parade got walkover against GCW Udhampur, while GGM Science College and SPMR College of Commerce did not report at the venue.
Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the inaugural function of the tournament.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sudesh Bhagat, Ashok Kumar, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia and Jai Bharat.
The matches were officiated by Rajesh Bandral, Shubham Sharma, Ramesh Singh Jasrotia and Varun Gupta.
