Inter-College symposium, poster making competition held

JAMMU, Apr 7: NSS Unit of Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Digiana Jammu organized Inter-College symposium, poster making and writing competition on the topic “Peace Education-Need of the Hour” in the College premises, here today.
Programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp followed by the Ganesh Vandana by the students.
Prof Vishav Raksha, NSS Programme Coordinator, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while Chairman of the College, Prof Anmol Singh presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Raksha stressed upon the students to make maximum participation in NSS activities and bring peace and harmony in the society.
Earlier, Principal of the College, Kiran Luthra presented welcome address.
Dr Netar Singh, Principal, Sant Rocha Singh Degree College; Prof OP Sharma, Principal KCS College of Education and Dr Usha Koul, Principal Harvard College of Education were the adjudicators on the occasion.
In symposium, Manpreet Kour of SMS College, Poulomi Sharma of MIER and Rajat Sharma of MAM College won first, second and third place respectively, while the consolation prize was bagged by Shivika Thakur and Afshaan of Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
In poster making, Shweta and Pallvi Sethi of MC Khalsa College of Education stood first, while Payal and Bhavya of Atman College of Education bagged second place and Bina Das and Nidhi Sharma of Harvard College of Education won third prize. Rashmeet Kour of Ranjit College of Education and Shruti Arora of Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar claimed consolation prizes.
In slogan writing, Narinder Kour and Kawaljeet of MC Khalsa College of Education stood first, second prize was bagged by Monika and Arti Kashav of Harvard College of Education and third prize was clinched by Sachin and Sunny of Govt College of Education, Jammu. The consolation prizes went to Renu Bala and Sakshi Bhagat of New Gandhi Memorial College of Education and Harmeet Kour of Sant Mela Singh College of Education.
The programme was anchored by Kiranpreet Kour , student of the College, while vote of thanks was presented by Prof Charanjeet Kour.
The events were held under the supervision of Prof Jasmet Kour, NSS Programme Officer of the College.
