AWANTIPORA, June 6: DIGP (OPS), CRPF, Awantipora, organized inter-battalion South Kashmir lawn tennis and badminton tournaments 2014 at 130 battalion Awantipora, which concluded here today.
The tournament was held under the overall supervision of Binay Kumar, Commandant 130 battalion CRPF.
Officers of the DIGP (OPS), Range Awantipora 18, 110, 116, 163, 164, 182 and 183 battalions participated in the tournament.
O S Charak, DIGP Awantipora was declared winner and Arvinder Singh, Commandant 164 battalion emerged runners-up in lawn tennis (singles).
Surinder Kumar, 2 IC 163 bn and Lallit Raj Kamal, 183 bn emerged winners, while O S Charak and Suresh Kumar, 2 IC DIG OPS Awantipora were the runner-up in lawn tennis doubles.
In badminton singles, S K Linda, Commandant 116 bn was declared winner and Baljinder Singh 183 bn was declared runners-up, while in badminton doubles Arvinder Singh, Commandant164 bn and Pankaj Kumar, Commandant 18 bn bagged the title, while O S Charak and Suresh Kumar emerged runners-up.
Mr Sudhakar, DIGP O/o HQ Kashmir was the chief guest on the occasion, while the officers of South Kashmir were present on the occasion.
