KATRA, Nov 23: Rajouri district Indian Style Wrestling Championship was organized by Rajouri district Indian Style Wrestling Association with the collaboration of J&K State Sports Council under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at village Moghla in Tehsil Taryath, today.
In the championship, 48 wrestlers in six weight categories of 38kg, 44kg, 48kg, 53kg, 57kg, and 62kg from Moghla, Tradu, Mathyani, Panggar, Odhan, Solki, Khiwas and Tiryath participated.
Zonal Education Officer Pouni, Anwar Hussian Choudhary was the chief guest on the occasion who presented Medals, Certificates and gifts to the wrestlers where as Treasurer Indian India Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function. Retired Tehsildar and general secretary J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Bansi Lal Tidyal was the guest of honour.
Director competition, NIS Wrestling coach Mulk Raj Sharma conducted the proceedings where as vote of thanks was presented by Shiv Kumar Sharma. The bouts were officiated by Joint Secretary J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma and Wrestler Sunit Singh. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma also spoke on the occasion. Shiv Kumar Sharma in his speech said that our association will give every possible help for the development of the game of Wrestling in Rajouri District. He said possibility will also be explored for arranging coaching camp for the Wrestlers in near future.
The final results: In 38 kg weight category, Sunil Datta got first, Dheeraj emerged as second, while Tankeswar and Adreesh Javed stood third.
In 44 kg weight category, Ravi Sharma stood first, Gaurav Kumar as second while Bikar Ahmed and Riaz received third prizes.
In 48 kg weight category, Varinder Singh got first Mohd Altaf as second and Ikram and Anil Kumar emerged as third.
In 53 kg weight category Mohinder Singh received first position, Joginder Pal got second while Saurav and Moin Khan were declared third.
In 57 kg weight category Puran Singh received first position, Onkar Nath got second while Lovnesh and Mohd Ashraf declared third positions.
In 62 kg weight category, Zulfkar Ali received first position, Noor Ahmed got second while Mohd. Khaliq and Imran Kham were declared third respectively.
