JAMMU, May 20: India team was announced today as the Coaching Camp and Trial Matches of the Physically Challenged Cricketers of India for the selection of National team concluded at GGM Science College Hostel Ground Jammu, here.
The Chief Guest on the occasion, SSP Jammu, Dr Sunil Kumar announced the 15-member selected India team which included Ravi Patil (Captain) Mumbai, Vikrant Kenni (Mumbai), SarangChaple (Maharashtra), Omveer Singh (UP), Shantanu Sarkar, Abdul Khaliq, D. Roy and Tushar Paul (all West Bengal), Iqbal Khan (Rajasthan), Gurdas Raut (Maharashtra), Ravinder Sante (Mumbai), Munish Kumar (Jharkhand), Jagmohan (J&K), Ashok Yadav (Karnatka) and Yashpal (Haryana). Syed Shah Aziz (J&K) and Jaswant Singh (Rajasthan) were named as the standbys.
The selection of the team was made by the four member panel including Nitendra Singh, Rajesh Gill, Rajesh Dhar and Raj Kumar Bakshi.
The coaching camp and trial matches were organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with the Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India under the direction & supervision of Dr. SD Singh IGP Jammu whereas Rajesh, Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer & Former Ranji Player was the Coordinator of the event.
Speaking on the valedictory function, SSP Jammu said it was delight see specially-abled cricketers from all over the Country vying for the top honours.
He further conveyed his best wishes to the selected team for their best performances in the forthcoming Indo-Afgan Friendship Series at Greater Noida starting from May 22, 2017.
Nitendra Singh, Director Cricket Operation of PCCAI while speaking on the occasion lavished praise for Jammu and Kashmir Police for sponsoring the event. He also praised J&K’s selected player Jagmohan for his skill and talent.
Rajesh Gill presented vote of thanks, wherein he extended special thanks to JKCA for its support.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Rajesh Dhar, Chairman Media Committee JKCA.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajesh Sharma, SO to IGP Jammu; Ramesh Kotwal, SP Headquarters Jammu; Vinay Kumar, SP Operations; Desh Rattan Dubey, Joint Secretary JKCA; Rakesh Chopra, Chief Curator JKCA, Saleem-Ur-Rehman, Sadiq Hussain, Madan Mohan, Anshuman Sharma, Former Ranji Trophy Player and Mohit, Member Simula Cricket team.
