JAMMU, Oct 30: Team E2S2M from IIT Jammu won top honours at the “Ideas to Impact (i2i) Challenge 2025” organized by IIT Madras, receiving a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 for their innovative project.
The team comprises Waseem Raja (Team Lead), Qamaruz Zaman Khaki and Akhil Gupta, research scholars guided by Dr. Pratik Kumar, Faculty, IIT Jammu. Their project, “Decentralised Blackwater Treatment for Individual Household & Community Latrines (IHHCLs)”, focuses on sustainable wastewater management using a dual plumbing system.
The competition saw over 800 teams nationwide, with the finale held at IIT Madras. The jury, including Prof. V. Kamakoti and Prof. Indumathi M. Nambi, praised the team for the practical applicability and sustainability of their solution. This achievement highlights IIT Jammu’s commitment to green innovation and real-world impact.
