JAMMU, Sept 2: Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Jammu celebrated National Sports Day with an energetic Volleyball tournament. Students from Hindi Journalism, English Journalism and Digital Media competed enthusiastically.
In a thrilling contest, the Hindi Journalism team emerged as the men’s champions, while the Digital Media team secured the women’s title. The Hindi Journalism team, led by captain Ashish Govande and including Rahul Yadav, Param Sangwan, Himanshu, Suraj Kumar Sahu, and Indrajeet Kumar, displayed exceptional skills and teamwork throughout the event. They defeated English Journalism convincingly in the finals.
In the women’s event, the Digital Media team, featuring key player Laurel and teammates Madhuri, Tamanna Ranjan, Janvi Verma, Anuja Jain and Shruti Pandey, outperformed a combined team from English and Hindi Journalism. The Digital Media team showcased remarkable coordination to clinch the championship with impressive scores.
Regional Director Dr. Dilip Kumar praised the participants, highlighting their sportsmanship and enthusiasm. Event convenors Vishav and Anoop Wattal, alongside referees Anoop Wattal and Gulshan Kumar, ensured a smooth and competitive tournament.
