IIM Jammu organizes Webinar with Chairman Union Bank of India

JAMMU, June 3: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu organized its 4th Webinar in the series on “Managing COVID-19 Crisis”.
The speaker for the Webinar was Kewal Handa, non-executive Chairman Union Bank of India, who delivered a lecture on the topic “Confronting the Deep Uncertainty”.
Mr Handa is a prolific speaker with a rich and diverse corporate experience. He has served very important positions in several multinational organizations. He was Managing Director of Pfizer Limited, India from 2005 to 2012.
The session was also attended by Director IIM Jammu, Prof BS Sahay, who talked about the importance and relevance of these Webinars where students get an opportunity to listen to eminent speakers like Mr Handa even during the lockdown. Apart from the faculty members and students of IIM Jammu, large number of students and faculty members from various other institutes across the country joined the webinar through registration that was open for all.
The speaker emphasized on the importance of clarifying strategic assumptions, having strategic options and their execution during and post Covid-19 or similar crisis. Various acceptable models on understanding and confronting deep uncertainties arising due to pandemic like crisis were discussed.
The webinar ended with the question and answer session.
IIM Jammu will hold its next Webinar on June 7, 2020 and the speaker for this Webinar will be Sandip Das, a senior advisor at Analysys Mason and board member of Sterlite Technologies.
