IHRSC honours National medallists

JAMMU, Mar 15: Indian Hawks Roller Skating Club (IHRSC) honoured national medallists of Speed Skating events, recently held at New Delhi.
Chief Patron of the Club Ashok Gandotra Chief Engineer PHE (Retd) was the chief guest, while K D Bhagat, DySP DAR Jammu was the guest of honour. The star attraction of the felicitation programme was Vipul Patel, National Speed Skating Champion and former Coach of India Speed Skating team. He was announced as the Hall of Fame-II of IHRSC. The Hall of Fame-I of the Club, while Rajesh Anand, Inspector, former captain of Indian Roller Hockey team also shared the podium to honour the outstanding skaters who recently brought laurels to the UT of J&K in 59th National championship.
Vipul Patel shared his knowledge about the game and traits to shine at national and international events. He said that inner confidence and handling pressure with calmness is the key to success.
KD Bhagat stressed on keeping the young lot away from drugs claiming that the scourge of substance abuse is eating up the vitals of society and ruining lives of youth in a big way, while Inspector Rajesh Anand laid stress on consistency in training sessions and continuous thought process to improve and hone skills on day to day basis.
The chief patron patted the young achievers for their momentous performance and announced that from next year IHRSC will present cash prizes to the medal winners. He assured wholehearted support to promote Roller skating in the UT of J&K.
The mentor of the Club, Arjun Gandotra, State awardee and Sher-e-Kashmir awardee expressed gratitude towards president J&K Roller Skating Association G S Khurmi and the members of the Association for supporting the budding skaters, while the Club president, Dhruv Pant congratulated all the medal winners.
The national medallist skaters who were felicitated include Puneesh Puri, Udhay Narayan, Tamanna Saini, Samarjot Singh, Kartikeya Puri, Tarun Gandotra and Dhruv Pant.
