Srinagar, Mar 15: The members of the J&K Cricket Association of Deaf today staged a protest seeking support from the administration so that they could excel in the game.
Several such players appeared in Partap Park, Press Enclave, after they won the 8th North Zone tournament organized by the All India Cricket Association of Deaf in Delhi in which 4 teams from the north zone participated.
The players termed the victory as the first of its kind in J&K while criticising the administration for not supporting them despite their achievements.
“After winning, the players have reached here; the victory is the first of its kind in J&K, but what remains lacking is the continuous and much-needed support of the administration,” the players said.
They said that if they get just 20 per cent support from the administration, they would do wonders in the game. “The overall support from the administration has been lacking which if provided would be of great help,” they said.
The players said that they have won and secured the title on their own and that they have reached this stage after making efforts on the organizational level.
“We have been seeking help, went to everybody, but nothing came out,” the players said.
