JAMMU, July 5: Inspector General (IG) of Border Security Force (BSF) Jammu Frontier, N S Jamwal today felicitated the bronze winner team of State level football championship of the BSF Senior Secondary School in under-17 age group so as to encourage and motivate them for further excellence.
The IG also presented the Rs 8000 cheque won by the team, which was escorted by Arjun Sharma. The IG BSF also awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000 to the team for bringing laurels to the school.
The championship was organised under Khelo India scheme of the Government of India held at TRC ground, Srinagar between June 11 and 15 and BSF School represented district Jammu. In total, 22 teams from different districts of the state took part in this tournament in two age groups of under-17 and under-19.
The IG congratulated Principal, Dr S K Shukla and his team Amarjeet Singh, Veerji Pandita, Arjun Sharma and Sangita Bhatt (Sports Incharges) for nurturing the students for various events. He stressed the importance of participating in such events for the overall development of the child.
Other dignitaries present during the felicitation were DIG/PSO, JC Singla, Administrator, Indraj Singh and other DIGs.
In the meantime, the IG BSF, N S Jamwal also felicitated the winners of Summer Olympiad 2019 held at University of Jammu which was organised by Department of Youth Service and Sports (DYSS) in which Prakul won gold medal in 3000 meters and Bronze in 400 meters as also Sandeep bagged Silver in 200 meters and Bronze in 100 meters in Athletics track events.
