Ice Hockey Championships conclude

SRINAGAR, Jan 24: 10th National Ice Hockey Championship for Men and 8th National Ice Hockey Championship for Women, organised by Ice Hockey Association of J&K concluded at Ice Rink Gulmarg, today.
Anchal Singh Deputy Inspector General Indo-Tibetan Border Police was the chief guest while Dr SM Bali (President Ice Hockey Association of India & Joint Secretary Indian Olympic Association), Harjinder Singh general secretary Ice Hockey Association of India, Shabir Ahmad Wani (Winter Sports promoter, International Skier, and vice president of Ice Skating Association of India), CO ITBP and Ski Olympian Arif Khan were among guests of honour.
All the dignitaries distributed medals and trophies among winner and runner-ups teams. Winner team in men section was ITBP, whereas runner-up trophy was clinched by Ladakh UT and 2nd runner-up trophy was grabbed by Army team, whereas in women section, the winner trophy was clinched by Delhi, runner-up trophy was claimed by Ladakh UT and 2nd runner-up trophy went to Himachal Pradesh.
This was first time that 12 teams participated in Ice Hockey Nationals at world famous Ski Resort Gulmarg. Anchal Singh ITBP DIG and Dr SM Bali addressed all players and officials present during the concluding ceremony.
Others who were also present at Rink were IHAJK Technical Advisor Muzamil Dar, Imtiyaz Malik National skier and Joint Secretary of IHAJK, Zahoor Ahmad, Ghulam Ali, Nazir Mir, Ajaz Rasool, Arshad Aziz, Safeena, Zubair Hamid, Siraj Ud Din and other members of Ice Hockey Association of J&K.
The concluding ceremony ended with vote of thanks by Harjinder Singh secretary general IHAI.
