IBL a great boon to Indian young shuttlers: Kashyap

Bangalore, July 30: The inaugural Indian Badminton League (IBL) will give a big chance for the Indian shuttlers to learn the tricks the way Chinese excel in the game and the new tournament is a fillip to the game in the country, top player Parupalli Kashyap today said.

The ace shuttler who plays for Team Banga Beats in the upcoming tournaments drafted on the lines of IPL cricket told media here that IBL will certainly help young Indian shuttlers to observe and learn nuances of the sport playing alongside or against top international players.

“This is good thing to happen as young players will rub shoulders with seasoned campaigners and also can expect to earn some cash,” he said at an event organised by the Banga Beats.

He also said “badminton, unlike cricket, is an individual sport and it is difficult to learn how the top shuttlers of other countries, especially the Chinese, prepare for major tournaments. Here we can hope to witness how the Chinese top players prepare and get some ideas on badminton out of them.”
