Hyundai Inter-School Cricket Tourney begins at KCSC

Jammu, Aug 10: With a view to identify and encourage young talent in sports, KC Sports Club with support from Hyundai has launched a monthly event in Cricket, which got underway, here today.
The teams in the Under-14 age category have been invited from all the reputed Schools of Jammu to play in this Inter-School Cricket Tournament.
The tournament would offer the youngsters the opportunity to showcase their talent. Every month, a team of observers would identify promising youngsters taking part in the event and shortlist them for a month long intensive coaching at the Club free of cost.
The tournament was formally inaugurated today in the Cricket Hall of the Club by Amarendra Kumar Mishra, Principal of KC Public School. KC International School  played against Blue Bird Public School in the inaugural match.
Blue Bird Public School won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, KC International School put up a score of 47 runs in 12 overs. Yuvraj Singh and Danish Sharma scored 18 and 10 runs respectively.
In reply, Blue Bird Public School was bundled out for 14 runs in 5 overs and lost the match by a big margin. Ansh Bhagat scored 4 runs for his side and Abhinandan Sharma made 6 runs.
