Humming Buds celebrates Dussehra

JAMMU, Oct 22: Humming Buds, Preschool Chain of Model Academy celebrated Dussehra with great enthusiasm and fervour, here.
The students were explained that Dussehra is a popular festival, wherein triumph of good is celebrated over evil.
The classes were decorated with torans and flowers and a puja was arranged to show the traditional way of worshipping goddess Durga. This was followed by a teacher talk explaining to the little kids how Dussehra is the festival marking the end of Navratri and the immersion of Durga idols which are worshipped for nine days prior to Dussehra.
There was enormous excitement amongst the kids to see the huge effigy of Ravana which was erected in the playground. Teachers enacted a small play for the children explaining how Dusshera has its roots in the Ramayana which states that Lord Rama along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman took off on an exile for a period of 14 years.
Through smart class, children were shown a Ramlila taking place and how hundred feet high effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakaran and Meghnath filled with fire crackers are burnt after that.
The festivities were filled with great joy and enthusiasm. Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER and Ruchika Gupta, Project Director lauded the effort of the staff for such a colourful celebration.
