HSS Salal, Panthal, HS Sirla Bhaga register wins

REASI, May 21: Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament for Boys Under-17 at the District Level got underway at General Zorawar Sports Stadium Reasi wherein 15 teams from both the government as well as private institutions are participating.
The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by Angrez Singh, District Officer, State Pollution Control Board, Division Office Reasi, whereas Kuldeep Raj, Assistant Commissioner, Metrology Department was the Guest of Honour. The Ceremony was attended by a big number of spectators.
The opening match of the tournament was played between Government High School Kotli Bhaga and Higher Secondary School Salal in which HSS Salal got better of High School Kotli Bhaga by 1 wicket.
Batting first High School Kotli Bhaga scored 54 runs in the stipulated 8 overs.
In reply, HSS Salal scored 57 runs by losing 7 wickets to win the match by 1 wicket.
In the second match between Government High School Kambal Danga and Higher Secondary School Panthal, the latter scored victory over former by 23 runs.
Batting first, Higher Secondary School Panthal scored 64 runs in the allotted 8 overs, while in reply, Government High School Kambal Danga managed to score only 41 runs to lose the match by 23 runs.
In another match of the day, High School Sirla Bhaga defeated Gurukul Public School by a margin of 23 runs. Batting first, HS Sirla Bhaga scored 68 runs in stipulated quota of eight overs, whereas
Gurukul Public School could make only 45 runs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 23 runs.
The matches were officiated by Pradeep Nag, Kuldeep Raj, Opinder Singh, Avinash Kumar, Gautam Kundal, Rahul Bakshi, Ajay Kumjar and Jagdev Singh.
The tournament is being organized by the Office of the District Youth Services and Sports Officer Reasi, Dr SS Chib, under the umbrella of the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
