Horizon Club, KCCC register wins in Winter Shield T20 Cup

Lotra scores brilliant 76 runs

JAMMU, Apr 3: Horizon Cricket Club Samba and Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) Jammu registered wins over their rivals to enter into the quarterfinals of the ongoing Winter Shield T20 Cup, being organized by SCA, J&K State Sports Council under the supervision of its Secretary Dr Naseem Javaid Choudhary.
In the first match, Horizon Cricket Club defeated Vishal Cricket Club by 33 runs.
Batting first, Horizon Club scored 141 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Akhil top scored with 58 runs, while Majid and Gourav contributed 22 and 20 runs to the total respectively.
From Vishal Club, Sandesh took 3 wickets, while Rajesh Gill, Ramandeep Singh, Rakesh Koul and Rohit claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Vishal Cricket Club managed to score 108 runs in 17.1 overs, thus lost the match by 33 runs. Jagteshwer Singh 28 runs, Asif 15 and Rajesh Gill 10 runs were the main scorers. From bowling side, Sohib took 3 wickets, while Ashish Singh and Gourav claimed 2 wickets each. Brijesh and Sachin took 1 wicket each. Akhil was declared as the man of the match.
In another match, KCCC defeated Kathua Club by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Kathua Club scored 141 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Jatinder top scored with 55 runs, while Vijay contributed 21 runs. From the bowling side, Vishal took 2 wickets while Manil and Sahil claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, KCCC chased the target easily in 14.2 overs for the loss of 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Sahil Lotra played a splendid innings of 76 runs, while Suryansh Raina and Bandeep Singh contributed 25 and 15 runs to the total respectively. From bowling side, Abhinandan, Kaka, Sanjay and Sheetal took 1 wicket each. Sahil Lotra was declared as the man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Vijay, Dayal and Ashok Singh.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Diamond Cricket Club will take on Samar Cricket Club at 9.30 am, while JCC will face Singh Akhnoor at 1.30 pm.
